Stationary is an adjective.  It has two meanings: 

•  standing still or having a fixed position

• remaining in the same condition or state; unchanging

        Example

Stationery is a noun that means writing paper or materials (pens, envelopes, etc.). 

        Example

Hint:  Stationery is spelled with an "e" like envelope.
