A Focus on the Division

The Towson University Division of Innovation and Applied Research is one of six divisions of Towson University. We serve as a point of entry for businesses, non-profits, government agencies, and community members interested in collaborating with TU. With a focus on fulfilling TU's identity and mission as a workforce and economic development driver, our work falls into four primary areas:

• Applied Research and Technical Services

• Continuing Education and Workforce Development

• Entrepreneurship

• Partnerships and Outreach

While these areas may seem very different, together they tie back
to our core work -- improving the quality of life and the economic vitality of Maryland and its citizens.

Our Blog

Since 2009, many of our staff members have contributed to our blog, highlighting the people, projects, and programs from across campus that are impacting our region. 2016 Year In Review

TUgis: Maryland's Geospatial Conference

Hosted by Towson University, nearly 600 GIS professionals from around the state converge on campus annually for hands-on workshops, presentations, and networking. MORE

GIS Training Offered at Towson University

TU's Center for GIS recognizes the value of tapping into the spatial dimension and has partnered with multiple state institutions to develop and deliver GIS training for Maryland state employees. MORE
