The StarTUp at the Armory recently hosted the StarTUp Accelerator Showcase. This annual event featured lively pitches and product demos from founders of the 2023 StarTUp Accelerator. Here are some highlights from the event:
💵 The StarTUp Accelerator has generated $27M of economic development in less than two years
🚀 Celcy announced it exceeded its Kickstarter campaign by 200% in the first hour of the being launched
🎖️ Anthony C. Woods, Maryland Secretary of Veterans Affairs, announced financial support for a veteran-owned venture in 2024 and beyond
🏥 Stephen Kinsey, Director of MedStar Inventor Services, announced funding for the 2024 MedStar Healthcare Innovation Venture
🏈 Two Baltimore Ravens Super Bowl champions took to the stage to champion our entrepreneurs
🐯 The Tiger Fund was announced to support select future and past ventures that have completed the accelerator

Maryland added 12,400 jobs in August, marking the biggest job growth since July 2022. The state’s unemployment rate is now the lowest in the nation at 1.7 percent, the seventh consecutive month of record-setting low unemployment.
