MD unemployment rate lowest since start of pandemic.
Maryland gained a total of 5,500 jobs while the unemployment rate jumped to 4.3 percent in August. Nationally, Maryland fell to 44th in unemployment rate, but was stronger in terms of percentage job growth, experiencing a growth rate that ranked 21st.
