Towson University recently awarded BTU Partnership Awards to three programs for driving meaningful impacts in communities across Maryland. The awardees highlight best practices in ensuring mutually beneficial collaborations that focus on respect, honesty and recognizing the specialized knowledge of each of the community partners.

Autism Hiring Program

This partnership expands connections across TU, affiliate organizations, and Maryland employers. Through career readiness programs, self-advocacy training, and mentorship, it empowers autistic adults and fosters inclusive, supportive, neurodiverse workplaces.

Culturally Responsive Mathematics Activities for BCPS Students

Through math instruction, collaborative programs, and mentorship, this partnership addresses inequities and under-representation in STEM. Graduates gain the vision to apply action-based research, enrich student experiences, and teach through the lens of civic and social issues.

Baltimore Community Archaeology Lab

This partnership promotes historic preservation and ethical stewardship of the past through project-based learning and civic engagement. It amplifies Indigenous voices in preservation and narrative processes while positioning TU as a leader in archaeological collaboration.

TU Continuing and Professional Studies supports working professionals looking to boost their resumes and advance their careers through instructor-led and self-paced certification prep courses.

The Dr. Nancy Grasmick Leadership Institute works to build better leaders, at every level, in every industry. From no-cost discovery sessions to delivering customized human-centered, results-based solutions, they work with organizations to develop stronger leaders and improve culture and retention.

“Their content is current, practical and engaging. Their conflict training gave JMT employees tools they could immediately use. The coaching session helped our senior leaders slow down, ask more questions and really connect with their teams. The impact has been eye-opening, and that’s why we continue to bring the Grasmick Leadership Institute back year after year.”

Kristyn Newby, Associate Vice President, Learning and Development Manager, Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson (JMT)
