STARTUP AT THE ARMORY SET TO OPEN

When the StarTUp at the Armory opens in September, it will become TU's front door for start-ups, small businesses, and our region’s largest corporations. This vibrant, one-of-a-kind, space will create new engagement opportunities for leaders to connect, convene, and collaborate alongside TU’s faculty, staff, and students. The 26,000 sq. ft. building includes 5,000 sq. ft. of free, co-working space open to the public and fifteen offices and seven conference rooms to support partner organizations and fellows of the StarTUp Accelerator.

Erin Moran has been appointed as the inaugural executive director of the Dr. Nancy Grasmick Leadership Institute following an extensive national search. Moran, a native of Baltimore, will guide the launch of key programming and offerings for TU's new leadership institute. Moran has spent most of her 24-year career dedicated to developing leaders who create inspiring work environments that enable people to be fulfilled while also achieving extraordinary business results.

RESI Chief Economist Dr. Daraius Irani will provide the annual economic forecast for our state, with a focus on COVID-19 economic recovery and capital investments being made in Towson.

9/11 Remembrance Ceremony

Friday, September 10 at 2–2:30 p.m., 9/11 Memorial Garden (in front of Newell Hall)
Join President Schatzel and the campus community for an observance of the 20th anniversary of 9/11, honoring the 2,977 victims of the September 11, 2001 attacks. Of those victims, 69 Marylanders were lost, including TU alumna Honor Elizabeth Wainio '95. Attendees will receive a commemorative pin.
