Although the spring semester is just barely underway, the Office of Partnerships and Outreach has been hard at work, continuing to facilitate and support partnerships through BTU—Baltimore + Towson University. We have several exciting events over the next few months for you to connect with colleagues and partners, please check them out below. Lunch & Learn: StoryMaps
Wednesday, February 22, 12–1:30 p.m.
StarTUp at the Armory

Join Geographic Information System (GIS) specialists, Christina Nemphos and Ariana Cacic, from TU's Center for GIS to learn what StoryMaps are, how they can be utilized, and how to build your own. Through ArcGIS, users can leverage spatial data to create professional maps to be used for teaching, sharing research, highlighting social and environmental issues, and creating presentations. Lunch & Learn: ECHO Enhanced Communities of Practice
Thursday, March 16, 12–1:30 p.m.

Under the leadership of Dr. Kay Holman in the Department of Special Education, Towson University, in partnership with Baltimore County Public Schools, piloted and continue to engage in an ECHO enhanced Community of Practice. ECHO is a global evidence-based professional learning model that utilizes case-based learning to equitably share information and resources through an “all teach, all learn” framework. It has been utilized in health, education, and civics. Learn about Dr. Holman’s experience and explore how ECHO can be applied throughout other disciplines.


Community Engagement & Outreach Roundtable Breakfast
Wednesday, April 12, 8:30–10:30 a.m.
University Union

Join five TU faculty and their partners who are leading community engagement and outreach efforts throughout Greater Baltimore. The event will be a roundtable, giving attendees an opportunity to rotate between tables, every 15-minutes, to discuss their work, outcomes, and lessons learned in small groups.

Tap into TU is an opportunity for area business, government, and nonprofit representatives to connect and network with key Towson University representatives. While this event is aimed at external representatives, if TU faculty or staff are also interested in learning about these connecting points on campus, please feel free to register.
