University Admissions, in partnership with OTS and UMC, is excited to be implementing Slate, the new Admissions CRM. Shared with the campus earlier this year, Slate is a comprehensive and widely used platform that provides a single, unified interface to better engage with prospective and incoming undergraduate students.
What will change?
- System of Record: For terms 2024 and beyond, Slate will be the system of record for application and admissions decision data. PeopleSoft Campus Solutions application data should be used for reference only. Up to date admissions data should be extracted from Slate.
- Decision Data: Slate and Peoplesoft CS will integrate data back and forth between systems. However, campus partners should not utilize Peoplesoft decision data for communication or reporting purposes. This information will be most up-to-date and accurate in Slate.
- New Request Process for Student Admissions Data Access: All student admissions data needs, email communication, and recruitment events will need to be coordinated with Admissions by submitting this admissions data access request form. This pertains to data requests and communications for students prior to enrollment. A business use case must be demonstrated for application-data level approval. Due to the high volume of project work, during the next few months, submissions will be reviewed and approved based on priority and necessity.
- Data Security: At TU, we recognize the importance of data security and protecting sensitive information and the privacy of our prospective students. Moving forward, we will be implementing stringent measures to maintain data integrity and confidentiality.
- Historical Admissions Data: This will still be available in PS for reporting purposes.
What will stay the same?
- TU ID: Every student will still be issued a TU ID at the time of application.
- Matriculation Process: After a student matriculates (pays the enrollment fee), campus partners will continue to access student information as normal in PeopleSoft CS. Matriculation will signal the transition of enrolled student data from Slate to PeopleSoft CS.
- Student Group Impacted: This change will only impact undergraduate students at this time. Graduate admissions process will remain the same.
Your partnership with admissions is very important to us and we want to make this transition as smooth as possible. If you have any questions or would like to meet to discuss your information needs, please email slate@towson.edu and our Slate team will be happy to assist.
We thank you for your understanding and patience as we transform our admissions process to better enhance our prospective and admitted student experience!
All the best,
Amy Moffatt
