Interactive Look at Maryland and the Regional Economy

• The most recent jobs report showed that between June and July, Maryland lost 5,000 Government jobs while gaining 900 Total Private jobs, resulting in an overall loss of 4,100 Total Nonfarm positions.

• Since January, Maryland has lost a total of 16,100 Total Nonfarm jobs.

• The unemployment rate for Maryland remained constant at 3.8 percent in July.

This September, RESI will host five roundtables to discuss topics as they relate to Greater Baltimore, including their causes, what solutions exist, and how policymakers can help support ongoing efforts. After each session, RESI will publish a policy brief covering the issues and discussion results.

Impact and Reach of Helping Up Mission
Helping Up Mission, 08/01/2019
Earlier this summer, RESI presented Helping Up Mission with a report outlining the economic and fiscals benefits of the Spiritual Recovery Program. These benefits include the cost savings of avoiding adverse outcomes while in the program, as well as the economic impacts of gainful employment for many program graduates. Helping Up Mission has recently released the full report and online presentation for public view.
