Greetings of the Season!
This is the time of year when there is a lot of excitement in the air in anticipation of holiday celebrations and ringing in a New Year. It’s also a time for reflection and a chance to look forward to new possibilities.
Thank you for being with us in 2017 for great classes and lectures. Some standout classes from this past year include “Buddhism: A School of Philosophy, A Way-of-Life, A Spiritual Path”, “One Hundred Years of Women’s Detective Novels”, “Rock ‘n’ Roll, Race, and Society”, “The United States and the Persian Gulf”, and “Free Blacks and Slaves on Maryland’s Eastern Shore” to name a few. We enjoyed another successful Summer Series of lectures and movies. And, we were able to have some good times together during the “Savory & Sweet Reception” in January, two very well-attended Previews, and the special performance for our members by Daryl Davis and Seth Kibel following the retirement reception honoring Jacqueline Gratz in June.
I hope that 2018 will be another exciting year for the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at Towson University. In this newsletter, I’d like to share a little of what we have in store for the winter months and I hope to get you excited about our spring semester!
