Message from the Vice President

If you have not already, please take some time to review our new web pages. While it is 11 months until the end of the fiscal year, now is a good time to start planning on how to manage your vacation time. In the upcoming months, I will have more definitive news about several initiatives that the division is pursuing that will have a positive impact on all of us. Please stay tuned for additional information.

Center for GIS

CGIS recently worked with the Towson University Police Department to implement a Timely Warnings Tool that quickly indicates the location of a reported crime and provides contextual information so that TUPD can alert the campus community with accurate information in a timely manner.

Continuing & Professional Studies

The Continuing & Professional Studies team is pulling together a comprehensive professional development program for their instructors. Training will include security protocols, Panopto, as well as a new handbook.

IT Services

When you need help from the IT Services team, please submit requests by sending an email to SPARhelpdesk@towson.edu. Please don't send IT requests to individuals.

Leadership & Organizational Development

The TU Professional Leadership Program for Women is accepting applications for its fifth cohort, which begins January 2019. MORE

Osher Lifelong Learning

With a team of three staff members, Osher relies on 80 volunteers to help accommodate almost 800 students and participants of the program. They recently hosted a volunteer luncheon to honor its small army of volunteers. MORE

Office of Administration & Finance

Just a reminder that Unanet timesheets are a required part of our job responsibilities. Timesheets must be submitted by the close of business on the Monday after the week ends. Authorized timesheet approvers (Project Managers and Supervisors) are expected to evaluate and approve timesheets within three days of employee submission.

Partnerships & Outreach

Regional Economic Studies Institute

The RESI team is finishing up an economic impact analysis of TU football for the Towson Chamber of Commerce. RESI worked with the TU Athletic Department to develop a survey of the student body and affiliates on how to increase attendance of football games.

Venture Creation

In an effort to better engage with its forty member companies, TU Incubator has started using slack. The tool allows for real time messaging, file sharing, and engagement between companies as well as the Venture Creation team.
