The eyes have it!
The first couple of weeks of classes have made me nearly giddy because I’ve been able to see my peeps again—by that I mean, you, Osher members! It has made a huge difference to be able to see faces again, even if two-thirds of those faces are covered with masks. It’s just par for the course these days. But, it cannot be overstated how wonderful it is to be able to see real, live, human beings taking classes and interacting with each other in our midst. We missed this all of last year and we are so happy to be able to have in-person classes along with online classes this semester. I understand that it isn’t easy. It’s a bit harder to hear people, so we have to speak up. It isn’t always comfortable, but we make do. We can’t always see the smiles under the masks, but ours are there and we sense that yours are too. Even with the inconveniences, we see it in your eyes that you are as happy as we are to be among friends at Osher again.

Human Library at TU

Do you have a story to share? Towson University’s Albert S. Cook Library is looking for people who are willing to engage in conversations about their identities as part of the Human Library Program. How it works: Those people who sign up to be books are checked out by readers who want to have a conversation with the books about who they are.

Much attention is paid to the physical changes of aging, and how that can impact the ability to age in place. Researchers in the Towson University Occupational Therapy department are conducting a study to understand how cognitive changes associated with aging affect day-to-day activities while living in the community. We are especially interested in learning from individuals who have experienced mild changes in memory, thinking, problem-solving, or mood. Participation involves two meetings doing regular activities and one follow-up interview. All will be scheduled at a time and location convenient to you.
Participants will be compensated $75 for their time. This is not a medical study; no medical records or diagnoses are used or required.
