Preparing Maryland’s Workforce

Towson University is an engine for workforce development in our state. More than 90% of our recent alumni are currently employed in our region, working in many of our community’s highest need fields. In fact, TU’s programs in cybersecurity and computer science are nationally recognized for their excellence, and we continue to graduate more teachers and undergraduate health care professionals annually than any other university, public or private, in Maryland.

TU’s economic impact for Maryland goes far beyond the sizeable contributions of our graduates. The StarTUp Accelerator, TU’s center for business engagement and entrepreneurship, is one of the top-ranked university economic development initiatives in the country. Since opening in 2020, the program has helped launch 53 new ventures, whose businesses have raised more than $15 million in capital funding and added more than 200 jobs to the state’s workforce.

Just as we are committed to student success, TU is committed to the success of our state and our regional economy. We’re so very proud to support Maryland’s workforce—a priority now more than ever.

Sincerely,

Signature

Mark R. Ginsberg, Ph.D.

President
