Summer break has not slowed Towson University’s momentum. Over the last few months, we have welcomed more than 9,000 students and families to campus for tours and new-student orientation. Our dedicated staff and faculty are currently busy preparing for nearly 5,000 new Tigers that will join our university community this fall. And many of our student athletes have already begun training for their upcoming seasons.

Campus hasn’t only been buzzing with members of the TU community. In June, TU hosted graduation ceremonies for all of Baltimore County’s 35 high schools and once again served as home to the Maryland Special Olympics’ summer games. Plus, hundreds of children have participated in the many TU-hosted camps and programs for local students.

TU’s impact truly spans far and wide. In fact, I am proud to share that because of our commitment to accessible, quality education, TU has received global and national recognition. Money magazine ranked TU among the top 100 public universities in the U.S., while Times Higher Education named TU the 6th-best university in the world for gender equality.

Whether it be rankings, community gatherings or a Tiger’s first visit to campus, we’ve had so much to celebrate this summer. I look forward to more exciting moments together as we soon kick off the 2024-25 academic year.
