What we're building.
This fall, Towson University is celebrating some very visible markers of our momentum and growth.
Our students are already enjoying the expanded University Union, which will be completed by spring. We recently opened our business engagement and entrepreneurship hub, the StarTUp at the Armory. In the coming days we'll dedicate the largest academic building on our campus, the Science Complex, and break ground on the first building ever singularly dedicated to our College of Health Professions.
But as I often say, what we're building is more than just buildings.
These new facilities are playing a significant role at a time in which the faculty, research, programming and students continue to push what is possible at TU.
Recent recognition and rankings—outlined below—also tell the contemporary story of Towson University. They share how our campus community is diverse, inclusive, civically engaged and academically prepared. They share how they're supported to be who they are and explore opportunities to thrive.
Our newest students form the most diverse first-year student class on record. TU's student population is increasingly representative of the State of Maryland–which now has a majority minority population, according to the most recent census data.
It's within those new buildings, where all of this will come together for the public good.
There's much to be proud of at Towson University, and there are truly great things ahead!
Sincerely,
Kim Schatzel, Ph.D.
