Syrian Refugee Awareness Concert

featuring Layaali Arabic Music Ensemble, Fadi Jano (vocals) Abdul-Wahab Kayyali (oud) Mohammed Mejaour (nay) Michel Moushabeck (percussion) and Jamal Sinno (qanun).

Guest speaker, Dr. Rochelle Davis, associate professor of Cultural Anthropology, Georgetown University, will provide insights into one of the biggest challenges of this generation, the Syrian refugee crisis. Information will be given about the Syrian American Medical Society (SAMS), a nonpolitical, nonprofit medical relief organization engaged in relief work, medical missions, and education and training for refugees in the Middle East and Europe.

 This event is free and open to the public.
